Sweet and sour chutney or can call it a tamarind ketchup too.
1. Soak tamarind in water for 15mins. After that, squeeze/strain the pulp to get tamarind water.
2. Heat oil in pan and add cumin seeds and let them crackle followed by adding ginger powder, asafoetida. Stir and add the tamarind water.
3. Cook for 2-3mins and then add jaggery and salt. Let the mixture cook until it thickens. Cool it and store in container.
