This is my mom's recipe for Kantas or Karvada pickle.

Ingredients
kantas or karvdas
250   grams
chilli powder
3   teaspoon
haldi or turmeric
1   teaspoon
sugar
100   grams
jeera or cumin seeds
1   teaspoon
ginger
25   grams
garlic( full pods)
3  
salt to taste
 
oil
1/2   liter
small balltamrind
1  
vinegar
1/2   cup
Instructions

1. Wash and clean the kantas. Cut them into half and remove the seeds.

2. Grind the chilli, haldi, jeera, garlic, ginger, salt and sugar with vinegar

3.  Heat the oil and add the ground masala. Saute it for 2-3 minutes. Add the kantas cook for five minute(Note: Don't overcook them) . Remove from the stove let it cool and then bottle.
