Mango dal or Mamidikaya pappu is a tangy,delicious and much cherished Andhra dish.
1. Take the dal, mango, onion,salt and green chillis, add 3 cups of water and pressure cook for 4 whistles and turn off the stove.
2. Heat ghee/oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let splutter, add cumin seeds, garlic, red chillis and curry leaves and let splutter.
3. Add the tempering to the dal and add the red chili powder and fenugreek powder, adjust salt and cook for 10 minutes on medium low and turn off the flame.Serve with Rice or Roti.
