      French beans was one of the only vegetables that I ate growing up. Partly cause of this recipe that my mom would make it with where see combined french beans and coconut

        Ingredients
       
 
       
          french beans
        
 
        
          1   pound
        
 
       
          small onion
        
 
        
          1   
        
 
       
          small tomato
        
 
        
          1   
        
 
       
          jeera seeds or cummin seeds
        
 
        
          1   pinch
        
 
       
          mustard seeds
        
 
        
          1   pinch
        
 
       
          curry leaves
        
 
        
          10   
        
 
       
          red chilli powder
        
 
        
          1   pinch
        
 
       
          salt to taste
        
 
        
          turmeric powder or haldi
        
 
        
          1   pinch
        
 
       
          hing or asafetida powder
        
 
        
          1   smidgen
        
 
       
          salt to taste
        
 
        
          cooking oil
        
 
        
          1   tablespoon
        
 
       
          grated coconut
        
 
        
          1/2   cup
        
 
       
          water

        Instructions
       
 
       1. Cut the vegetable into small pieces
2. In a pan heat oil and add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds
3. Then add the onion and curry leaves and stir till translucent
4. Add tomato and saute till orange. Then add the spices, hing till a uniform paste is formed
5. Then add the beans, red chillies and coconut. Then add water and let it boil till water is drained
