Ingredients
sugar
1   cup
bottle gourd(about 3/4th foot long)
1
evaporated milk
1   cup
unsweetened condensed milk
0.5   cup
ghee
1   tablespoon
cardamom powder
1   teaspoon
sliced almonds
2   tablespoon
Instructions

1. Wash, peel and grate the gourd well.

2. Take 1 tablespoon of ghee in a heavy bottom pan and add the grated gourd.

3. Saute for 5 minutes, then add sugar. The mixture will turn very wet at this point. Let it cook until most of the water evaporates. Next add the condensed milk and evaporated milk. In the absence of these, you can also add whole milk. It gives a relatively less rich taste, but will still work for the recipe. Let it cook for another 10 minutes while stirring continuously.

4. Add the cardamom powder and almonds. Stir well. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until slightly cool. Serve!
