Ingredients
large potatoes
3
salt
1/2   tablespoon
water
2.5   cup
turmeric powder
1/2   teaspoon
asafetida
1   pinch
curry leaves
10
green chilies
3
cloves of garlic

2   tablespoon

1.5   tablespoon
Instructions

1. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into very small dices. In a cooking vessel, add the water and transfer the potatoes immediately after you cut them in the water to prevent browning. Add salt to the potatoes and bring to a boil till potatoes are cooked.

2. In the mean time, heat oil to prepare the tadka. Add asafetida and cumins seeds once oil is hot. Next add curry leaves and green chilies. Add in the turmeric powder as well.

3. Crush garlic with a pestle as shown. Add the garlic to the tadka as well and cook till slightly brown.

4. Add this tadka to the boiling potatoes. Mix well. Serve hot with bread or chapati.
