Plantain slices dipped in a chickpea flour and deep fried to a golden perfection

Ingredients
chickpea flour/besan/senagapindi
2   cup
rice flour
1/4   cup
peeled and sliced plantain
2  
red chili powder
3/4   teaspoon
baking soda
1/4   teaspoon
ajwain/carrom seeds/vaamu
1   teaspoon
salt to taste
 
ginger garlic paste
1/2   teaspoon
oil for deep frying
 
turmeric powder
1   pinch
Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine besan, rice flour,turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, ajwain, ginger garlic paste, baking soda and enough water to make a slightly thick smooth batter.

2. Heat oil for deep frying in a heavy bottomed vessel and once oil is sizzling hot. Dip each plantain slice in the batter until it is well coated and drop gently in hot oil and fry till golden brown.

3. Drain and place on tissue paper. Serve hot.
