Ingredients
dried prawns
1   cup
fresh dessicated coconut
3/4   cup
kokum
6
dried kashmiri chilies
4
coriander seeds
1   tablespoon
3 inch diameter ball of tamarind
1
salt
1.5   teaspoon
turmeric
1   teaspoon
onion
1/4
cloves of garlic
4
coconut oil
1   tablespoon
Instructions

1. Take the coconut, red chilies, coriander seeds, tamarind and turmeric and add it to a mixer. Grind into a fine paste with around 3 cups of water. Keep aside. Heat coconut oil and add in the finely chopped onions once hot.

2. Once the onions begin to brown, add in the crushed garlic cloves. Let the garlic brown as well. Next, add in washed dried prawns and saute for a few minutes.

3. Add in the ground coconut paste. Mix everything well. Add salt and kokum. Be careful while adding salt since dried fish is usually salty. Adjust according to your taste.

4. Let the mixture come to a boil. Serve hot with rice.
